Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026
Oak Wood Homecare Inc. provides non-medical home care services in Los Angeles County, California. This policy explains what we collect when you visit oakwoodhomecare.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What this policy covers, and what it does not
This policy covers information collected through this website, and by telephone or email when you contact us about our services.
It does not cover the records we keep about people who become our clients. Care plans, assessments and service notes are governed by your service agreement with us and by the confidentiality obligations that apply to home care organizations in California. If you are a client or a family member and want to know how we handle care records, ask us and we will explain in writing.
What we collect
What you give us. When you fill in a contact form on this website, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and whatever you write in the message field. If you tick the newsletter box, we record that you have asked for updates. When you call or email us, we collect what you choose to share — usually a name, a phone number, and details about the care situation you are asking about.
Please do not send detailed medical information through the contact form. If you need to discuss someone's health or care needs in detail, call us instead and we will take the information properly.
What is collected automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how long you spend on them, and the site or search that brought you here. This happens through cookies and similar technologies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of this website may then not work as intended.
This website is hosted on Squarespace, which collects analytics information about visits as part of providing that hosting. Our contact forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects hardware and software information from your device and sends it to Google to help us tell real enquiries from automated spam.
How we use it
To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation; to provide and improve our services; to send you updates if you asked for them; to understand which of our advertisements and pages actually help people find us; to keep this website secure and working properly; and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a licensed California home care organization.
Who we share it with
We share information with the following categories of third parties, and only as needed:
Service providers who run this website and our systems — our website host, email provider, scheduling and client management software, and similar vendors
Advertising and analytics providers — Google, as described below
Professional advisers — our attorneys, accountants and insurers, where necessary
Government agencies and law enforcement — where we are required to by law, including reports we are obliged to make as a licensed home care organization, such as reports of suspected elder or dependent adult abuse
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes.
Advertising, analytics and Do Not Track
We advertise on Google. To understand which advertisements lead to genuine enquiries, we use Google Ads conversion tracking and the Google tag on this website. These use cookies to record that a visit or a phone call followed a click on one of our advertisements.
Yes — third parties may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use this site. Google may collect information through the tools above and use it to show you advertisements on other websites. You can control how Google personalises advertising to you at myadcenter.google.com, and opt out of Google Analytics collection at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is currently no industry-agreed standard for how websites should respond to that signal, and this website does not respond to Do Not Track signals. The tools described above continue to operate regardless of the setting. You can limit collection using the Google controls above, or by blocking cookies.
Phone calls and text messages
When you call us, we keep a record of the call and what you told us so we can follow up properly.
California law requires that all parties consent before a confidential conversation is recorded. We will tell you at the start of a call if that call is being recorded, and you can ask us not to record. If you reached us through a telephone number shown in one of our online advertisements, the call may be routed through a Google forwarding number, which records the time, duration and source of the call.
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about your enquiry, a scheduled consultation, or updates you have asked for. If you have applied to work with us, we may text you about your application and scheduling. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving care, and we do not share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Please note that we are required by law to report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of an elder or dependent adult. Information you give us is not confidential from that obligation.
Your choices
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you from your contact with this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@oakwoodhomecareinc.com or call 626-706-6771 and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first.
If you asked to receive updates and no longer want them, use the unsubscribe link in any message we send, or simply tell us.
Security, retention and other details
Security. We maintain reasonable security procedures and practices appropriate to the information we hold, as California law requires of any business holding personal information about a California resident. This website uses encrypted connections, and access to enquiry information is limited to the people at Oak Wood who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep it. We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us. If you become a client, information about your care is retained under the separate rules that apply to client records. If you ask us to delete your enquiry information, we will unless we are required to keep it.
Children. This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites. We may link to sites we do not operate, such as government agencies or benefit programs. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content, and this policy stops applying once you follow a link away from oakwoodhomecareinc.com.
California residents. California's "Shine the Light" law lets California residents ask businesses whether they have shared personal information with third parties for those third parties' direct marketing purposes. We do not, so there is nothing to disclose.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted at the top of this page for at least thirty days.
